System requirements
Core system
The core system contains the website and the database. Since it is source code only, it is cross-platform. You need PostgreSQL database server with PHP 5 support and additional installed modules. Check the readme file in source.zip for further information and instructions.
Windows installer package and portable version
The system was built on a Windows XP Service Pack 3 x86 (32 bit) system, so this is considered to be the minimum system requirement to run NIS. The installer package was also tested on Windows 7 Professional x64 (64 bit) and Windows 10 Professional x86 (32 bit) system. In general: NIS should work on all Windows XP Service Pack 3 or later systems.
Downloads
Please note that Nemesis Information System is in alpha stage and is not recommended for everyday use as it is still under heavy development, not fully-featured and may contain unknown bugs and vulnerabilities. We are testing the system continously and update our repositories regularly. We will display a notification when the first stable version is released, but until then you should use the system at your own risk!
If you download the software despite the warning set forth hereto, you state that you understand and acknowledge the risks of using an alpha stage software and take the responsibility of any financial loss it might cause. Installation notes
- Please note the upgrader feature is still experimental and may fail to upgrade your system properly. Thus, you should always keep a copy of your current version and create a backup of your database before installing the new version. You can do this from the 'Maintenance→Backup→Backup database...' and 'Maintenance→Backup→Backup web application...' menus in the Control Central application. To do this, you must be a system administrator.
- From version 0.9.17.21a, the password hashing method has been changed to ensure compatibility across different PHP versions (older PHP versions before 5.3 are no longer supported). If you are upgrading your current installation and its version is earlier, you have to re-generate password hashes to be able to log in. To do this, either use the forgotten password emails to generate a temporary password for your account, log in with that password, then change your password to create a new hash for your password so you can log in with that password later, or use the password_generate.php script (with password=your_password URL parameter) in the include directory of the web application to generate a new hash for your password, then open the database client application, navigate to the administration_schema.users table and overwrite the existing password hash of your account with the one you generated with the script. To access forgotten password emails module, the mailing (SMTP) configurations must be set properly and email sending must be enabled in the mail_config.php file.
